Repossi’s History
Jewelry is a family affair in the Repossi’s since 1920, when the grand-father of Alberto Repossi opened his first factory of High Jewelry in the Piedmont, north of Italy. His son, Costantino developed the brand in the 50-60’s and opened his first shop in Turin. He followed all his customers all around Italy and created a very modern designs for his time, for the most important families.

Costantino Repossi created unique pieces, found stones by himself, he was fascinated by precious stones. In the 60’s, the brand is synonymous with High Jewelry. In the 70’s, his son, Alberto went himself to India, Sri Lanka, Burma, Thailand, Colombia… and brought back the first big colored stone to Italy. Alberto Repossi opened, with the partecipation of his wife Gio’ Giove Repossi, his first store in Monaco in 1978, then the second one in Paris in 1986, in Place Vendome. His hard work and his passion drove him to the prestigious title of “Official Furnisher of S.A.S. Le Prince Souverain, Rainier III de Monaco” in 1994.

He became the jeweler of the royal families and the biggest stars thanks to his creations, but also of crowned people, among who, Princess Diana whose engagement ring was offered by Dodi Al Fayed in 1997 and S. A. S. Prince Albert II de Monaco for who he realized the engagement ring of the future Princess, Charlene de Monaco.

In 2007, Gaia Repossi, the only daughter of Alberto and Gio’ Repossi, began her career in the Maison and became its Artistic Director in 2017, she will give a modern imprint and her style will become an important reference in the international High Jewelry. Karl Lagerfeld had elected her “his colleague”. In 2015, the LVMH Group, the world's leading luxury goods company, took a minority stake in Repossi and in 2019, took over the majority of the Repossi Group. In 2022, LVMH took full control of the company.

Alberto Repossi, resigned from the Presidency of the House after 41 years, and decided to devote himself to his passion which had never abandoned him: the research and investment in the most important and rare precious stones, creating with his wife Gio’, the “The Precious Stones Sicav PLC” a Maltese and European regulated SICAV. An unique case in the financial world for colored gemstones. This project was born precisely to institutionalise the activity and to have the possibility to influence the colored stone market, going directly on the mines and in collaboration with the most important players of the world market. The principality of Monaco with its FREE PORT and FERRARI INT Company with its professionalism and custodian both support the “The Precious Stones Fund”.
